Welcome to New Ludgate — an independent editorial site about working and living well in the Ludgate quarter of the City of London.
Our patch is small but extraordinary: the wedge of EC4 that runs from Ludgate Circus up Ludgate Hill to St Paul’s Cathedral, bounded by Fleet Street, the Thames and two thousand years of history. Tens of thousands of people work here; most rush through it. We write for the ones who’d like to actually know the place.
What We Cover
Our guides fall into four areas: Workspace & Offices (what makes a modern workplace genuinely good), our Area Guide (where to eat, walk and wander around Ludgate and St Paul’s), Getting Around (stations, routes and commuting tactics for EC4) and City of London Life (the history and culture of the Square Mile).
Our Approach
Everything we publish is original and written to stay useful. We favour enduring landmarks over here-today café tips, plain English over property-brochure gloss, and honest observation over hype. Where facts can change — timetables, opening arrangements — we say so and point you to primary sources.
Have a question, a correction or a corner of the quarter you think we should cover? Get in touch — we read everything.
